CHED in Western Visayas offers scholarship grants
Here’s good news for college education aspirants in Western Visayas.
The Commission On Higher Education (CHED) is offering poor but deserving graduating high school students a chance to go to college through government-sponsored scholarship grants.
Regional Director Dr. Rex Casiple of the Commission on Higher of Education in Western Visayas said that the government’s gesture of a free college education for the country’s marginalized youths aimed to improve their lot in life and secure for themselves a brighter future.
Casiple spelled out the mechanics of the scholarsip program, foremost is the ‘’ One scholar for every municipality’’ ruling in which only one scholarship grant will be approved for every town or municipality.
He said that all graduating high school students living in the rural areas were qualified to apply, provided they were natural born Filipinos, among the Top Ten in the class, having a gross family income of not more than P 300,000, and legitimate residents of their respective municipalities.
A scholarship package of free tuition and miscellaneous fees and a semestral allowance of P 15,000 await the successful candidates, Casiple said. (PNA)
